The Veterans Appreciation Council was founded
in 1992 by a group of young Greenwich residents who felt strongly that
we as a nation must honor our veterans for their service to our country.
None of the V.A.C. Founding Board Members are veterans.
The core focus of
the V.A.C. is to host an annual Salute To Veterans ceremony during the July 4th weekend with a sole objective of thanking
those men and women who have worn our nation's uniforms. All too often
we take our precious freedom for granted and the V.A.C. has built a tradition
of saying "Thank You and Welcome Home" to all veterans.
Funding for the annual Salute to Veterans is provided by
local area families and companies who agree that our veterans are a precious
resource.
